Raleigh/Wake Chapter North Carolina Central University Alumni Volunteerism in the Community

Members of the Raleigh/Wake Chapter of the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association partnered with Source Force on Saturday, December 19, 2009. Source Force is a grass roots, non-profit organization that provides services to individuals living with HIV/ AIDS and AIDS.  AIDS refers to persons diagnosed with AIDS, based on the Center of Disease Control definition in adults, adolescents, and children.   HIV/AIDS refers to cases of HIV infection regardless of whether they have progressed to AIDS from the 39 areas that have had confidential name-based HIV infection reporting long enough to monitor trends.

One of the continuing programs Source Force offers is the monthly "picnic" (luncheon).  Picnics are a chance for clients to get together and enjoy a hot meal, entertainment from local musicians, performance groups, or listen to speakers.  At the events, free clothing and groceries are given to the clients and household items are given as prizes for Bingo.
