On Saturday, June 3, 2017, the Raleigh/Wake Chapter of the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association held a reception and inducted the Honorable Associate Justice Michael R. Morgan of the N.C. Supreme Court into the Eagle Hall of Fame.
The event was held at Martin Street Baptist Church in the Family Life Center. Chapter President Paul Bitting welcomed guests and shared the occasion. The Reverend Paul Anderson, pastor of the Fountain of Raleigh, gave the invocation and grace and Linda Bailey provided piano music. Following the formal Induction Ceremony, Judge Morgan delivered a response. Judge Cheri Beasley, Professor Phyllis Craig-Taylor, Dean of the NCCU School of Law and Dr. Dudley Flood, Educator/Lecturer brought remarks. After the Alma Mater was sung, Reverend Cicero Williams gave the benediction. Committee members included Chairman Leonard King, Mary Butler, LaVerne Lane, Charles and Valgean Mitchell, and Betty Yancey.
