Thomas Spivey, CPA was the guest speaker in the second of a series of workshops sponsored by the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association, Raleigh/Wake Chapter. Tax Planning & Preparation was the topic of the presentation at the February 23, 2017 meeting held at the Chavis Community Center. Mr. Spivey stated what you should expect from your tax advisor. Among them are: expertise and peace of mind, views your relationship as an ongoing partnership, provides you with quality, up to date tax return preparation and advice, and prefers to take a proactive vs. reactive approach to tax services by keeping current on new tax laws and legislation. He also offered information regarding tax strategies, tax planning and return preparation for individuals. Mr. Spivey graduated from North Carolina Central University in May 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting. After spending several years at a Fortune 500 Company, Thomas E. Spivey, CPA, PA was founded in 1977 on a part-time basis and moved to full time operations in 1988.
